Leaving us👋🏼

For employees in Norway
Don't leave! Are you sure you want to leave? Come talk to us as soon as you are thinking about leaving ❤️ Maybe there's something we can do! And even if there isn't, we won't hold it against you. BUT, if you are thinking of leaving: Please give us as much notice as possible. We wish you all the best for your next chapter!🚀
If you decide to resign, there are a few points worth knowing:
Check your profile in Workday to see how long your notice period is.
Resignation must be in written format.
Participate in an exit interview (only for office) as part of your off-boarding process.
1) Let your leader know that you want to resign
2) Talk to your leader about your last day of work (remember to resign before the end of the month).
3) You or your leader need to add your resignation in Workday. Click here to see how.
Oda as an employer can require you to take out the remaining holiday days in your notice period. Please discuss this with your manager before leaving. If you have any unused holiday that you’re unable to use before your last day, these days will be paid out given that you have been deducted for the holiday days on your salary.
Your next employer may deduct you for the remaining days that you are entitled to take out within the year.
Oda pays out the end settlement the month after your last day of work. This can be: Holiday earning of this year or mobile phone deductions.
Mobile phone: If you exit the company you are required to purchase your current mobile phone. The amount you pay for your mobile phone depends on for how long you have had your phone.
Computer: Laptops should be delivered to your local Site IT or manager. Remember to add a post-it note with your name on it.
If you have Oda clothing, you need to hand this in. Contact your nearest leader about this.
There are two different ways an employee leaves - resignation and termination/dismissal.
Resignation: You as an employee decide to end your employment. If you resign, you will have the right and obligation to work throughout the notice period.
Termination/Dismissal: Oda as the employer makes the decision to end your employment.
Termination: You have the right and duty to work out the notice period.
Dismissal: You have to resign immediately, without notice period.
In order for Oda to be able to terminate or dismiss you, you must have committed a "gross breach of duty" or "other significant breach of the employment contract". Some examples are:
Long-term unauthorized absence
Serious or repeated order refusal
Abuse of alcohol and drugs
Financial infidelity / theft
Violence against colleagues, superiors or clients/customers
A termination or dismissal should not come as a surprise to you, as Oda must discuss the issue with you before termination/dismissal takes place. You should have the opportunity to make your views on the assessments heard by Oda before the final decision is made. Termination/dismissal must be in writing.
