Subtraction Bowling

Materials:

• 10 Toilet paper rolls or blocks

• Ball

• markers

• paper

Directions:

1. Start with 10 toilet paper rolls standing up.

2. On your paper, make a number 10 to represent your toilet paper rolls.

3. Roll your ball and see how many you knocked down.

4. Subtract the number of toilet paper rolls that fell by moving them away.

5. beside your 10, subtract the number of toilet paper rolls that fell over. Then solve the math problem to see how many are left ( 10 - 3 = 7)

6. After you have figured out how many are still standing, roll your ball again to try and get the remaining toilet paper rolls down.

7. Start at the remaining number and subtract how many fell the next time. ( 7 - 5 = 2 )

8. Keep playing until you have knocked all of them down.
