On April 11th, the junior class went on their retreat. This year’s theme was "The Battle Ground" and explored the idea of using virtues such as peace and love as a shield and sword. Sister Elfie DelRosio, a Salesian Sister from New Jersey, guided the juniors through their retreat. She emphasized fun in her explanation of the importance of carrying Jesus in your heart while facing your struggles. The juniors had the opportunity to reflect on their relationship with their faith by writing in journals and praying in the chapel at the end of the day. Many students said that this retreat was very powerful for them, and the events even made them emotional at times. Thank you to Mrs. McCaig for a wonderful retreat day!
On April 18th, 2024, the whole student body went outside to the circle to introduce a young mother to her new car. She and her children were very excited to see their new vehicle and this young woman can not thank us enough. Once again, special thanks to the Ferrario Auto Team and Geoff Crossley. Without their assistance, we would not have got this young mother as far as she is now. And a special thank you to Mrs. McCaig, for making this year’s Lenten Project remarkable yet again!
After showing off her brand-new car, the Class of 2024 led everyone in singing the Alma Mater. In return, all students were given a ‘Mountain Day’ for April 19th; an amazing way to start Spring Break!

The Sophomore Class went to a nearby gym inside a church with Mrs. McCaig and Mrs. Sullivan. The day was filled with numerous activities led by Mallory Sheehan, Jeremiah Parker, Lydia Howe, and Alexis Becker. The main goal of this retreat was to choose right from wrong and shorten the gap between someone and Jesus. Many activities included recognizing and learning about sins many teenagers commit. The Sophomore Class also did activities such as tying a knot in a string for situations they relate to and writing their names on papers for things they had experienced. These activities proved that no one is alone and everyone experiences similar situations. With the seniors, the Sophomores also took a lot of time reflecting on each activity, family and home life, and their own personal sins. The day also included many fun mini-games and a pizza lunch. The retreat concluded with a prayer along with the students writing a letter on how they could change themselves to become closer to Jesus and close their gap.

The class of 2024 recently presented the Stations of the Cross. Crusaders Simeon Scarselletta and Caroline Horton portrayed Jesus and Mary under the instruction of our campus minister Mrs. Mcaig and co-leader Eve Montanarella. This moving presentation could never have been possible without Mrs. Mcaig’s dedication to strengthening the faith of Notre Dame. Her work at Notre Dame is greatly valued, and “Mary’s Way” has become a tradition Crusaders cherish each year.
