On Friday, April 1st, the Crusader QSA Club was happy to be able to bring back QSA Coffee Fridays. For the first time this year, you can pick up a hot coffee plain or with delicious flavor every Friday from 8 am to 8:20 am at the snack stand near our gymnasium. And along with getting a good coffee, you are helping raise funds for the Notre Dame QSA club that works to do great things for our school and for children in need of help or support. Additionally, all proceeds from April 1st and April 7th will be donated to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which works to identify and help individuals in abusive relationships. Come buy coffee and help your fellow Crusaders!

Easter is one of the first spring holidays of the year to enjoy with your family. Easter is a Christian holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The event is said to have occurred three days after Jesus was crucified by the Romans and died in around 30 A.D. in the New Testament of the Bible. The holiday concludes the "Passion of Christ," a series of events and holidays that begin with Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and sacrifice, and conclude with Holy Week. Easter is celebrated through family gatherings, Sunday mass, parades, Easter egg hunts, and a special visit from the Easter bunny.

Earth Day was on Friday, April 22. Earth Day is an annual event where you demonstrate your support for environmental protection. Earth Day is a way to raise awareness about pollution and to keep a clean pristine place for everyone to live and enjoy. Earth Day was inspired by the student anti-war movement. Senator Nelson was the creator of Earth Day and he wanted more people to be conscious and compassionate about air and water pollution. Some ways you can contribute to EarthDay is to pick up litter, or plant trees. Earth Day is a great way to show your care and love for our earth!

Recently, the school's robotics team went to RIT for the FIRST robotics competition. Our Robot got an advantage with its defense, and it got the robot to the finals. However, in the last round one of our team's robots accidentally turned another team's robot off, which led to the other team getting a point and ending the finals. Despite not winning the regional competition, it's still the furthest the team got since 2017, when it went to World's. Just because the competitions are over, it doesn't mean the Robotics Team is done with meetings; since then. the Robotics Team has been at an Easter event to show off the team, and supplies have been moved to the school from the shop where the team builds. Also, the robot needs fixing from competition and there's still an end-of-the-year party. So this robot's mission isn't over yet, and there's still the competition in Rochester later in the year. So here's good luck for the rest of the year!

On March 30th, the Climate Crusader Club took a field trip to Elmira College to attend the Climate Teach-In event. Crusaders spent the day providing information to locals about their mission as a club at Notre Dame and took turns in discussions and lectures with professors from the surrounding areas. Club president Ella Chicone says, “As a whole, the club had a great experience at Elmira College. We talked to others interested in ‘Saving the World,’ collaborated ideas with professors at Cornell and Elmira college, and learned new solutions through the multiple panels attended.” The Climate Crusaders plan to update the greenhouse standing in the warmer months to come and focus on the impact Earth Week can have on other young adults as they continue to make the world a better place.
