After nearly a year of hard work, the greenhouse is finally finished! Notre Dame has built a greenhouse to allow for more hands-on learning in the science department. Last year the school received the Catholic Climate Covenant grant and with the help of Neal Moore and his Boy Scout troop, the greenhouse is now standing strong outside of the science wing.
During a ceremony to bless the greenhouse, students surprised Mrs. Jennings by dedicating the greenhouse to her. The greenhouse is a "thank you" for all the hard work Mrs. Jennings has done throughout her years at Notre Dame, especially during the global pandemic.
Students, teachers, parents, and board members attended the ceremony. The greenhouse was blessed by Father John DeSocio, speeches were given by Ms. Mack, Dr. Hazelton, Neal Moore, and Mrs.Jennings, and psalms were read by Mark Tota and Alexandra Welliver.
The Science Department plans on making a compost bin, a monarch habitat, and, as a long-term project, a community garden.
