Pandemic Edition - January, 2021
by Ally Finnerty
The COVID-19 vaccine is becoming increasingly available to people across the world, especially in America. About a year ago COVID-19 began to spread like wildfire across cities, towns, countries, and continents. Throughout this past year the idea of a COVID-19 vaccination has been a huge motivation for the entire world. The first vaccine was given in the United States on December 14th and since then has been administered to over 151,000 Americans. While it is still not available to everyone, the fact that the vaccine was created in less than a year (since research began) is remarkable. In New York, people age 75+, first responders, public safety officers, teachers, and other essential workers are eligible to be vaccinated. Hopefully, within a few months the vaccine will be available to everyone. Every vaccination gets us one step closer toward normality!
