With the up and coming Student Council Elections for the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of our Notre Dame Student Body for the 2022-2023 school year, on behalf of the Maryleaf and our wonderful candidates, we would like to introduce our candidates, why they would like to run, and a preview of their campaign.
Hello, I’m Zharia Ashley and I’m running for student council President. I am determined to make Notre Dame as fun as possible and listen to all of your suggestions. I also have some really cool ideas that are realistic and can be done in the 2022-23 school year. I promise to devote all of my time to this position and try my best to do everything that the students want. Thank you all for your consideration. Vote right, Vote Zharia Ashley for student body President!
I’m running for President because I KNOW I will make positive changes to our school. I can’t say anything yet because I’ll spoil the tricks I have up my sleeve, but I think each and every student will love the activities and things I intend to plan. I love Notre Dame with all my heart, and I want all students in the present and future to have the best middle school/high school experience possible! I aim to work with as many students (7-12) as I can to revive ND! Your job is to vote for me!
Thank you for your time!!!
I am running for the position of Student Council Vice President. I wanted to run this year because I loved my time serving as the sophomore and junior class Vice President and I think that I made a big contribution to my individual grades and would love the opportunity to do the same for the whole school. I think that I would be a good fit for this position because I am approachable and truly just want what’s best for the students and the school community.
Hello Crusaders!! My name is Violet Daly and I am running for class of 2022 student council secretary. I believe you should vote for me because I am a wonderful individual who is very understanding and pays attention to all. I promise to lead Notre Dame to a successful future and build on the foundation. I will work alongside the other representatives and listen to the ideas of the students open-mindedly.
Why should you vote for Donovan? Well, because I’m just the choice that makes sense. I’ve been working with money since I was a little kid, my Dad's a banker and I work as a teller at a bank so I know how to deal with money. There may be other candidates with math skills like mine; however, my talent to communicate with the student body is just as important. As treasurer, I will make sure the student body guides all my decisions. This year, our student council struggled with our budget. We didn't have a lot of money and many fundraisers turned into failures, but I plan on fixing that. I will push for more dress-downs and bake sales in the student council to increase our treasury. I will ask students what they want to change or introduce to ND, because as treasurer I will represent the students, not my own interests. A vote for Donny means a vote for ND.
Jade Nordin, Candidate for Treasurer: I am running for student body treasurer because I can make a great impact during the next school year. I look forward to working alongside the other student council members. Together we can encourage more students to participate in school activities to help spread the Crusader spirit. I am well fit for the job because I have a love for fundraising, leadership, and school events. I have large amounts of experience running and helping out with fundraisers through Notre Dame's Q.S.A club, which I co-lead. Through Q.S.A, I have helped raise about one thousand dollars for several organizations. These organizations include; Nami, Period.org, and the club itself. As treasurer, I would also ensure that we raise the money to run amazing pep rallies, the homecoming game, dances, and other events that help create and keep the Crusader spirit alive!
