Pandemic Edition - December, 2021

One of the most special traditions that has been carried on for many, many years at Notre Dame is the Christmas Basket Collection and Golden Mass each December. However, what makes it so special is the giving and caring spirit that is shared by both the students and teachers. This year, Notre Dame was able to sponsor approximately fifty kids from eighteen different families. The families that we provide for have faced extreme hardships this year, but we can help them by giving. It is incredible how much we can do as a school and what a difference we can make in the community. This year, the Golden Mass will be celebrated on December 21st and is the perfect way to celebrate all that we have accomplished during this giving season.

The mission of this project was to get the community involved by writing letters to soldiers who could not make it home for Christmas. In 2018, 250,000 soldiers were unable to make it home to their loved ones for the holidays. Notre Dame was able to make over 200 cards and letters in one week that have all been shipped to our soldiers, full of holiday spirit. Teachers spent entire periods dedicated to creating these cards. Thank you to all the students and staff who recognize the importance of our soldiers.Â
