Wealth Management Intern
This class has been really helpful because it’s not just about sitting in school all day. I get the chance to step into the real world, gain valuable work experience, and earn some money while still getting school credit. I’ve learned skills I wouldn’t have picked up in a traditional classroom, and it’s given me a better idea of what I want to do in the future.
Every day at my job is unique and brings something different. Some days, I spend time on the second floor of the Busey building in Urbana, shadowing and learning from the Wealth Management Advisory Support team. On other days, I assist my boss with various tasks, such as scanning documents to upload into online databases or organizing financial information. This variety keeps the work engaging and helps me gain valuable experience.
This course is different from my other classes because it allows me to leave school at 12:30 p.m. and spend the rest of the day working at a job where I can earn school credit. The credits from this course count as three regular classes, which is really helpful.
It gives me the chance to explore different careers and start figuring out what I might want to do in the future after I finish college. Plus, I’m getting paid for my internship, which makes it even better because I can gain real work experience and make money at the same time.
