How does this class help me?

This class provides me with the opportunity to develop new workplace skills that I can apply to any job I pursue, as well as to various areas of my personal and professional life. It not only enhances my abilities in a practical sense but also allows me to explore a wide range of potential career paths, helping me discover areas of interest and opening doors to new opportunities I may not have considered before.

How is this Course different from other classes?

This course stands out from other classes at Mahomet-Seymour because it provides a unique pathway for students to transition into adulthood. Unlike many traditional courses, it focuses on equipping students with essential life skills and practical knowledge that will help them navigate the responsibilities and challenges of adulthood.

What does my internship look like?

A day in my job. When I first get to my work shift I start by clocking in at one of the POS (Point of Order System) stations. Then I grab a pager and write what number I have on the whiteboard attached to the pager system so that the kitchen knows what number to hit to get me back there to run food. In my downtime I will roll silverware clean and reset tables, or help out with anything I can to make everything run smoother. I also frequently go upstairs to get ice for downstairs, and ingredients for the kitchen so they can keep on task and get food out quick. At the end of the night we clean up the bathrooms and make sure everyone else is good before we leave.
