Custom Fiberglass Pool Intern
This class has helped me be able to earn more working hours at my job, as well as learn more while I am on my job site. Working with custom pools, I learn more about the process being able to be there from a project from start to finish in a day to see all all the skill-sets and processes interconnect.
This course is different because it lets me be able to learn a skill "hands-on" and work more hours at my job, even when I am in school, while making money. I didn't think I would gain so much knowledge in just one semester on the job, but I did.
I go to class and learn about job ethics and skills in the classroom and leave to get right to work after my WPL class discussion. From there we go to the job of the day at a customer's house and put in a pool for them. To get a pool set it takes around a day, the concrete takes a few days to get done, then we go back and finish up the pool for a total of around 3-4 days depending on the size and layout of the pool and landscape. Other times weather affects the job tasks and we build and create project parts for upcoming jobs.
