This senior internship has helped me with multi-tasking. It has taught me how to handle being a full time student and also balancing work. How to have time to do homework and study for tests, but also how to balance my hours and make sure I'm hitting my requirements. This course is different because I am able to learn about different careers and really explore the one I'm really interested in. It also gets a foot in the door with your career and widen your network
I come into work and punch in my employee ID and clock in. Once I clocked in I gave over and put my belongings in my chubby. Once I'm all clocked in and ready I head over to the hostess stand. Once I am at the hostess stand I look at the computer and see what servers are on what time they get it to turn on their sections to be sat.
After a while our dinner rush starts happening and more customers start coming in . Once I greet the customers I ask how many they have and head to the computer. I go over and see whose turn it is to sit and grab menus and silverware and take the customers to their table. After a while the customers started getting up from their tables leaving dirty tables.
I go over to the computer and mark the used tables. I grab a tray and start cleaning and wiping tables. Once I am all caught up I go back to the computer and clear the tables. I do this repetitively until we close at 10.
In between that time around 9:30 I start doing my closing stuff which contains stalking napkins and coasters, making sure bathrooms are clean etc. Then last, once we are closed, I make sure the hostess stand is nice and clean for the people in the morning. I punch in my employee ID and clock out.
