objective
For all staff to gain clarity of human and vehicular traffic movement in the school and to ensure safety of all road users, including pedestrians and motorists within the school compound and its vicinity.
Policies
Gates opening hours (Mon to Fri):
Vehicle IN Gate (A) - 6.30am to 6.00pm
Vehicle OUT Gate (B) - 6.30am to 5.30pm
Pedestrian Gate (B1, D , D1 & D2) - 6.30am to 5.30pm
Cyclist Gate (D1 & D2 only) - 6.30am to 2.00pm
All gates are closed on Sat & Sun.
School commencing times (before 7.30am)
Parents' cars/vehicles with valid car decals are allowed to drive into school premises via the IN Gate (A1) to let their children alight at the drop-off zone at the designated porch areas.
All buses are to let the students alight at the designated bus-bay area demarcated by yellow boxes.
All vehicles are to follow instructions given by the teachers/staff on duty.
Teachers/Staff on duty at the zebra-crossings outside of school and inside school compound will assist students to cross the road.
Vehicles must comply with the speed limit of 15km/h within the school compound.
Pedestrians are required to obey all traffic rules when crossing the road, regagrdless of outside or within the school premises.
In the event of moderate or heavy rain, buses are allowed to let the students alight at the sheltered porch area.
School dismissal times (1.30pm to 2.15pm)
Only school contracted buses are allowed to enter into school premises before dismissal time. The main vehicular gates are closed from 1.00pm onwards till all school buses leave the compound.
Only parent's and private vehicles ( with valid school car decal) are allowed to enter the school compound at around 1.45pm, after all school buses have vacated.
All drivers are to follow instruction given by the teachers/staff on duty.
Vehicles must comply with the speed limit of 15km/h within the school compound.
Teachers/Staff on duty at the external zebra-crossing will assist students in crossing during school dismissal time.
Teacher/Staff on duty at the side gates are to make sure students leaving school in an orderly manner.
Pedestrians are required to obey all traffic rules when crossing the road.
Other timings
Visitors are only allowed to enter/exit the school via the main gate.
Visitors are required to sign in at the guard house and obtain a visitor pass before proceeding into the school. They are to display their passes at all times when they are in the school compound.
They are required to report to the General Office before proceeding to any other parts of the school.
Only authorized and/or permitted vehicles are allowed for short-term parking in the parking lots within the school premise.
All vehicles entering the school compound must follow the instructions given by the Security Officers or any school authorized personnel.
No visitors, including parents are allowed to visit their children in their classrooms or go to rooms reserved for teaching and learning.
Parents bringing their children out from school before dismissal time must obtain an early release form at the General Office, to be handed over to the Security Officer before leaving.
Deployment of Staff in Traffic Marshal Duties for Vehicles,
Asst. Chief Safety Officer is responsible for the deployment of staff on traffic duties
Staff on morning duty must report at their respective locations by 7.00am
Staff on afternoon dismissal duty must report at their respective locations immediately upon school dismissal.
Safe Route for Pedestrian
Pedestrian is to only use Gate B1,D, D1 or D2 to enter or leave the school.
While in the school premises, pedestrian is to use the pedestrian footpaths and not to wander onto the vehicular roads.
Safe Route for Cyclist
Cyclist is to only use Gate D1 or D2 to enter or leave the school. If the cyclist gates are closed, cyclist can use the main gate to leave the school. Cyclist must push their bicycle while in the school compound.
Cyclist is to park their bicycle at the bicycle rack near the Gate D1 or D2.
