End-of-Year Progress and Reports

We have several different end-of-year reports to share with you. We know it can be a lot to keep track of because they arrive in different ways! Some will be online, some will come in the mail, and others will be in your child's backpack. Here is a simple guide to help you find each of your child's reports:

• Report Cards: Online in the Parent Portal on Friday, May 29th

• SOL Reports: In the mail

• Literacy Reports (Grades K-3): In your child's backpack

• Reading Plans / Intervention: In your child's backpack (if your child receives support)

Please contact your child’s teacher or the front office if you have any questions about these reports. We are always here to help you support your child's learning journey!

Update Regarding Red Hill Afterschool Care for 2026–27

Dear Red Hill Parents and Guardians,

First and foremost, thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and everything you do to support our school community. As we look ahead and prepare for the 2026–27 school year, we want to update you on planning for after school care at Red Hill ES.

We know that many of you want to know the specifics about the changes to our Extended Day Enrichment Program (EDEP), specifically that EDEP will not be running its traditional program this coming school year. We want to reassure you of our commitment to providing a safe, enriching aftercare solution for your children, while supporting families and their school community.

While the structure is changing, the mission remains the same. Here is where things stand right now:

Community Partnerships: EDEP is actively partnering with trusted, local community organizations to step in and provide high-quality afterschool care for our students.

Active Planning: We are currently working out the logistics and programming details with these partners to ensure a smooth transition.

Our Timeline: We are finalizing these details and expect to share the complete, finalized aftercare plan, including registration details, with you in the next few weeks.

We are working to ensure that our families have the support they need before the new school year begins. We deeply appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this transition to a new and sustainable model.

Community Update: Rallying Around the Stephens Family

Our community is keeping another Red Hill family close to our hearts. JP Stephens was recently involved in a serious motorcycle accident and remains in critical condition at UVA Hospital.

JP is a longtime member of the Red Hill community and an incredible father to two children, one currently at Red Hill and one future Moo. His fiancée, Ashley, is also one of our beloved Red Hill bus drivers.

The road to recovery will be long, and the family will face many challenges in the months ahead. Please continue to lift them up with positive thoughts and encouragement.
