Welcome Back!

It has been so wonderful to see so many smiling faces in our hallways! We loved seeing the children give big hugs and high-fives to their friends and teachers. We are off to a very happy and strong start this year.

Our teachers are already busy with exciting lessons. They are also spending time helping students feel comfortable with our daily routines. This helps every child feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn.

How to Help at Home:

• Create a calm and consistent morning and bedtime routine.

• Ask your child to share one happy thing they did at school each day.

• Help your child get plenty of rest so they feel their best for school.

School Rules and Celebrating Positive Behaviors

When visiting or volunteering this quarter, be on the lookout for new displays highlighting school rules and more. These new displays will also feature the many ways students actively follow school rules. This will help them better understand the choices we expect to see each and every day throughout the building and outside. Additionally, our staff frequently reinforces positive behaviors. When we recognize and praise good choices, it helps strengthen decision making and our children’s ability to follow our school rules. You can help at home by asking children about the school rules, routines and expected behaviors at school

We have big dreams for Red Hill this year. We want to grow our outdoor learning spaces and help every student do their very best in reading, math, science, and social studies. Our goal is to reach the "Distinguished" rating from the state of Virginia. We are so proud of our progress! You can see how we are doing on the VDOE website.
