Unit 12 Overview:
In unit 12, students generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object to create a line plot. Students will also draw picture and bar graphs (with single-unit scale) to represent categorical data. Students will analyze graphs to solve word problems.
- Students will measure lengths of several objects to create a number line in order to identify patterns and analyze data on a line plot. (2.MD.D.9)
- Students will create picture and bar graphs to represent data, with up to four categories, in order to draw conclusions and make decisions about the data. (2.MD.D.10)

Graphing & Line Plots:
- Collect data as a family and create a bar graph or picture graph.
- Find 2-3 facts you can state from the data.
- Practice finding out how many more or less votes any category had in comparison to another.
- Measure something out in nature (leaves on trees, flowers, etc). Gather the data and create a line plot to display the length of each nature object.
