GCM Global Prayer Initiative
May 6-27, 2024
Introduction
Dear Friend,
Welcome to the 21 days of global prayer initiative!
Together with thousands of believers worldwide, you are invited to enter a special time of worship and intercession, based on the book of Revelation. Every day you will be reading one chapter of this special book. Since Revelation contains 22 chapters, on the last day you will conclude with chapters 21 and 22.
This prayer guide is not meant to give a thorough exegesis of Revelation. Rather, it is a prompting to draw you closer to God. Consider His majesty, recognize His justice, and bow in awe before the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Revelation is an epic book. There are hosts of angels, flying horses, scorpions, weird creatures with eyes all over their bodies, others with multiple horns, a dragon, thunder, rumbling, flashes of lightning and earthquakes, fire, trumpets, stars, and golden lampstands, altars, incense, scrolls and seals, bowls filled with the fury of God, thrones, armies, shining white linen garments, crowns and swords, and a great multitude of people worshipping the Lamb, and finally, the New Jerusalem and paradise.
Revelation will stir your imagination. Let the Holy Spirit carry you through this book. Let God take you by hand opening chapter by chapter, just as He opened the heavens for the beloved apostle John. John fell on his face and worshiped while things kept unfolding before his eyes. You are invited to worship too.
The first part of the prayer guide will be focused on your communion with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Without a personal revival, there can be no revival in the world. To strengthen your experience, you might consider taking some time to fast. You may choose to skip a meal or fast a certain day of the week.
The second part of your prayer time will be Kingdom focused prayer. You will be invited to pray for the growth and expansion of the Kingdom of God. Your prayers will contribute to the breaking down of spiritual walls, breakthroughs, and even awakening and revival in the world. You will also have the possibility to pray for people, churches, countries, and entire continents.
The apostle Paul poured out his heart to the church in Corinth: "Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches." During these 21 days of prayer, you are invited to follow Paul's example and intercede for the Church. The context of Revelation is the Church of Christ. John has a message from Jesus to the seven specific churches in Asia of that time. And, through them, there is a message for His Bride worldwide.
When John received the Revelation he heard a voice like a trumpet. May our time in prayer lead to our strong testimony for Christ - a trumpet voice to the nations. Amen.
