Partner Hub Launch

The Waze for Cities Team recently launched the new Partner Hub, a platform for all partner tools and data, replacing the old Partner Portal. Why? We wanted to provide a more advanced and stable platform, and make account management easier. We’ve already created a test account for Partnership Coordinators, and will train and guide them on using the Hub and Tools.

Sudan MapRaid

Congratulations to the Sudan Community, supported by Boosters, for their amazing efforts this October to create new roads, edit existing roads, and add more information to your local maps. It is amazing to see new communities emerge and come together to complete your local map on Waze!

New Languages!

Congratulations to the Localization Community and to the local Georgia and Australia communities on the introduction of the Georgian and English (AU) new languages, now live in the Waze app! The Waze Communities are immensely grateful for your amazing contributions to make Waze accessible and localized to more countries!

Office Hours - Pandemic ETA & Road Width Deep-Dive

In this edition of Waze Communities Office Hours we met with Nir Schenkler from the ETA Team and Gil Disatnik from the Product Team. Nir gave us insights into how Waze’s ETA predictive models adapted to the new post-COVID pandemic reality on the road, and Gil dove deeper into the new Road Width feature, answering the Community’s deep technical questions into Road Width’s functionality, while sharing some of his own best practices along the way. Check it out on YouTube here!

In Memoriam: Iainhouse

The Waze Communities mourn the passing of Iainhouse, and send deepest condolences to his friends and family. Iain was an amazing person who deeply touched many members of our community. He embodied everything it means to be a Map Editor and a Global Champ, through his eagerness to help other editors and teach new skills, to his prolific contributions to the community with over 10k Forum posts and numerous scripts. Iain will be dearly missed. To honor his legacy, we’ve created this Forum Badge for those who want to memorialize Iain to wear with pride.

We want to hear from you :)
