For the “Toss It” activity, use popsicle sticks or a similar item with ten dots drawn on one side and one dot drawn on the reverse side to represent groups of tens and ones.

Label several disposable cups using a permanent marker with different values, such as 80¢. Provide students with real or plastic coins and have them put coins in the cup to add up to the value listed!
