Guidance for Parents of Gifted learners During An Extended School Closure

Overview:

In an effort to provide continuity of learning experiences for gifted students, the Gifted Department is working hard to prepare enrichment opportunities to both parents and teachers. We know that this time may be difficult for our gifted students due to their natural desire to learn. This is a great time for our students to explore options such as researching personal areas of interest. Below are two websites that provide topics of interest that students may want to utilize to enhance their desire to learn.

Many gifted students are sensitive to world issues and concerns and may feel overwhelmed in our current situation. Students may feel the need to discuss their thoughts and feelings. It is important to honestly address their concerns while remaining calm and reassuring.

We will continue to work closely with the other curriculum departments to meet your child’s unique needs. Enjoy your time with your gifted child and we look forward to returning to the classrooms soon.
