Wisconsin Regional Service Network Grant (RSN)
Description
The objective of the Regional Service Network is to support Wisconsin local educational agencies (LEAs) in advancing the academic achievement and social/emotional competencies of students with disabilities by providing coordinated technical assistance that promotes continuous systems improvement, fosters collaboration and develops educational leadership capacity. As outlined in the RSN Practice Profile, the essential functions listed below define the purpose and objectives of the RSN, and the activities fulfilled by RSN fall within the essential functions:
Essential Functions
Support Continuous Systems Improvement:
Regional Service Network (RSN) Directors support systems improvement and systems change by developing LEAs’ capacity to use data for analysis and action planning so that practices are implemented effectively in order to advance educational achievement for students with disabilities within a multi-level system of support.
Develop Leadership Capacity: Develop leadership capacity of local Special Education Directors by providing support and training around technical and adaptive change so that LEAs know the conditions under which effective teaching and learning happen.
Foster Collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships so that LEAs’ efforts to promote academic, career and community-based opportunities for students with disabilities are coordinated and aligned.
Engage in Professional Learning: Engage in ongoing professional learning to develop and apply knowledge of initiatives and skills that impact adult practices to advance educational achievement for students with disabilities.
Primary Products & Services
Onboard new Directors
Provide ongoing professional learning, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance for College and Career Ready IEPs to districts.
Provide ongoing professional learning, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance for the Results-Driven Accountability Procedural Compliance Self-Assessment (RDA:PCSA) to districts.
Provide targeted technical assistance to all Special Education Leadership, Directors of Special Education, Program Support Teachers, and designees within regions through onsite visits, mentoring, and coaching.
Coordinate a minimum of five (5) regional CESA RSN meetings for local directors of special education and/or designee to disseminate information from statewide RSN meetings and other trainings required by DPI.
Coordinate/facilitate up to four (4) networking meetings for district special education and related services personnel.
Build capacity of RSN to collaboratively support and strengthen collaboration with TA Network and other key stakeholders.
