Victoria Cliff "Just Let Me Grow"

I named my piece “Just Let Me Grow” because it’s the hook of the song, and because it basically captures the message of the entire song. Just Let Me Grow is about my pretty strange experience with the pandemic. I won’t go into details, but basically, on top of covid, my family is also going through one of the most difficult periods we’ve ever been through (even if the pandemic wasn’t a thing). But, being the optimistic person that I am, I decided to write a song about, well, being optimistic. However, I don’t belittle my struggles in the song, instead I talk about wanting to grow. I chose to submit this type of response because I’ve been writing songs basically my entire life, so songwriting is almost second nature. My main inspiration was the fact that I was somehow managing to stay pretty optimistic in one of the darkest times in my life. I really hope listening to this song will give people a sense of hope and help them realize that they can choose to be optimistic too.
