The title is A Sacrifice We All Have to Make, and I chose that because it sounds like one of those ads that you see on TV about how some completely unrelated company is trying to appeal to everyone. Like who cares that Dick Hanna Car Dealership has my back in “these trying times” (I swear that phrase is in every commercial). Now just put “stop by Fred Meyers” at the end of my story and that would be perfect! Like I said, I chose this type of submission because it’s supposed to be like a script for an ad. Needless to say, the inspiration is from any ad on TV. I hope my audience can relate to what they see on TV and get annoyed or laugh because it’s so true.
We all know why we are inside all day. To keep people safe. Even though there is nothing to do, no one to talk to, other than the crazy old lady who wants you to walk in the busy street to stay six feet apart (actually happened to me), and still having to get up at 6 am because it is still ‘technically a school night.” We all know that making those sacrifices that make up our lives is, in the end, all for the health and safety of the people who need us to follow the rules the most.
Soon we will all be returning to our normal lives, and look at how weird these few months have been. We’ve spent most of our lives getting up at the same time, going to school, coming home or doing sports, but with all of this, it has all been thrown to the side as we all sit indoors all day. But there’s a reason behind all of it, and it’s a good one.
