My ideal video game would involve the best parts of all of my favorite games. It would take years and years and a whole lot of money to develop, but it would be worth it because there is a little something for everyone. This game would have a storyline that follows your created character through the life of a professional athlete that has a past life of crime. You will have to navigate your current job as a sport professional athlete while trying to make as much money on the side in your criminal life.
The storyline would start out with you being drafted #1 overall by a team of your choice, making you have a massive signing bonus and being able to get started with your spending-- buying a big house in the hills and multiple cars. But then, your criminal best friend needs some help with a heist. You used to do things like this, but you stopped and now you are strictly an athlete, but you’re going to help him JUST THIS ONE TIME. After you do it and don’t get caught, you tell him “THATS IT. I’M OUT.” You go back home, make your debut as a professional athlete, and go through the life of a star. But then, one night someone knocks on your door.
It is once again your criminal friend, wanting you to help him. They need to rob the arena that you play in, because there is tons of valuable items stashed in the team owners office in a non-discrete file cabinet. This is where you need to make the decision to rob it and get tons of money from these items, or you can deny it but not look suspicious to the corrupt owner. What people don’t know about the owner though is that he used to be a criminal himself, but he was a hitman too. He ran around killing whoever his boss wanted him to at the time, and for very little money. He finally turned himself in and got released from jail after a year, then he won the lottery. He sure was smart with the money though, investing and building quite the financial portfolio for himself. He was able to buy the team that you now play for, but he is a mob boss, ordering for people to be killed and organizing other crimes.
After this story altering choice, you can go one of two ways. You can continue to be an athlete and live that life, or you can continue to play but be missing practices and workouts because you need to be somewhere for your little robbery business. Both ways are going to force you to see how bad the owner is, and make you want to take action against the mistreatment of many people. The owner will want to take action against you too, by releasing you from the team at some point (another team of your choice will scoop you right up, don’t worry) and spreading bad things about you.
Towards the end, the owner dies of a heart attack, and his much better daughter comes in and runs the team well. The word finally gets out that he was a bad man and that he deserved to be dead, and there begins to be an outpouring of support for you and how you handled him, and your publicity goes through the roof. Once it all ends, you can go back to the life of crime and retire to just run wild about the city, or you can become a legendary athlete that plays for 20 years until your body finally gives out and you can barely walk.
In the end, you do retire and will be remembered by a lot of people regardless of what you do. As you fade away into the hills in your massive home and people move on to the next big star, you begin to reminisce on the past with your physical health declining, and this is where our story ends.
