Artist Statement: The title of my project is “A modern day hero amidst a global pandemic”. I titled this to correspond with the image, because you would never think that amidst a pandemic, you would be considered ‘patriotic’ by staying at home watching t.v. I chose to submit this response in this format, because i think that a picture can mean so much more than a simple paragraph or poem. I got my inspiration from remembering all of the times people, news anchors, radio hosts, etc. advise everyone to stay home unless you are ‘essential’. I hope my audience sees that looking back, how important it is to be courteous of others.
