Artist Statement: I believe that my piece connects to the pandemic because it shows that people are in a panic going to the stores and buying whatever they can. People are doing this because they believe that they are going to need to stay in their homes and not leave until it is all over. I chose to submit this type of response because it is a picture of the shelves of the stores and it has a greater connection to the pandemic than any other piece of art. My inspiration was the stores because they are so empty because people are panicking. I hope that people will realize that there is no need to panic and freak out because the world has made it through a lot worse and we will not be taken by this pandemic.
