Warm and relaxing feeling on your skin. Gentle breeze keeping you cool. Being outside is a wonderful thing, but sometimes we forget. Sitting in a room for 24 hours a day doesn’t seem all too bad. Staying in a room everyday for 3 months sounds like a challenge. Luckily nobody has to be forced into that situation. Walking down the street, seeing the cars pass by in a blur. The wind kicks up as you walk further. The city is lit up at night. Being outside is a wonderful thing, but sometimes we forget. The city that never sleeps has suddenly fallen quiet. Seems almost unheard of, like a dream. The ocean sends wind in your direction. The smell of fish and water floods your nose. The sound of seagulls and the waves crashing into rocks vibrate in your ears. Being outside is a wonderful thing, but sometimes we forget. Looking around, no one comes into vision. You sit there alone enjoying the painting-like scene in front of you. Dark, cold, and wet as you drive alone. The trees dwarf you as you drive past them. The rumbling of your car as you drive deeper into the darkness. Your car comes to a complete stop as your tank is full. You get out to find something or someone nearby to help. Sheltered by your jacket as water pours down on you. Being outside is a wonderful thing, but sometimes we forget. In this situation you want to forget. Until you see a shadowy figure as it creeps out of the obscurity. Hope? Or Doom? Your heart is racing as it starts picking up speed. You turn around and bolt it to your car. You made it all in one piece. Your headlights shine upon the shadowy figure. The closer it gets the more familiar it looks. It’s YOU. You look upon the car as the person inside is terrified of what they just saw. You crack a smile and get closer as blood and water drip from your body. YOU let out a scream enough to deafen a person. The ground starts to shake the louder the scream gets. All of the sudden everything turns black. You wake up in the middle of the night sweating and horrified. Being outside is a wonderful thing, but sometimes we want to forget.
