Hello! My name is Madison Milano. My philosophy of Physical Education is rooted in the belief that every child can be successful, active, and confident in movement. For students in Pre-K through 4th grade, PE is about much more than learning sports. It is an opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills, build confidence, learn how to work with others, and discover activities that can become part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
My experience working in Little Hearts and Pre-K has given me a strong appreciation for the importance of early childhood development. I understand that young children learn best through play, exploration, encouragement, and age-appropriate challenges. I carry that same approach into PE, creating an environment where students feel safe to try new things, make mistakes, and celebrate their progress.
As a high school and U12 soccer coach, I also bring a coaching perspective to my teaching. I value teamwork, communication, perseverance, responsibility, and learning how to respond to both success and challenges. While sport-specific skills are part of PE, my goal is to give students a foundation of movement and fitness skills that they can use across many different activities and throughout their lives.
As an alum of this school, teaching here is especially meaningful to me. I have experienced this community as a student, and I am proud to now contribute to it as an educator. I want my students to feel the same sense of belonging, encouragement, and pride that I experienced.
Ultimately, I want students to leave my PE classes feeling more confident in their bodies, more comfortable being active, and excited to move. My goal is to help every student find success in PE, regardless of their athletic ability or experience, while developing skills and habits that will serve them well both on and off the field.
