Meet Monsieur

Bonjour! Bienvenue to the French class of Lower School. My name is Cory Rousset or Monsieur Rousset. I am very much looking forward to my sixth year here at Sacred Heart.  I teach French for grades prekindergarten through fourth grade. The students are gradually introduced from the time they start in pre-k and continue to learn and acquire more French as they continue through the grades. Starting in kindergarten the girls are introduced to the French only rule where the class is done in all French! We have fun with our plays that we do starting in prekindergarten and this year some grades will be able to do two! The third and fourth grade are also doing their French cafe this year! This is a great activity that we get to do where we speak in English for the day and the girls get to enjoy a delicious French pastry or dessert and learn about French speaking communities around the world. My philosophy for teaching French is to get students to the point where they are comfortable taking risks and are actively using the language. I want them to develop a love of not just learning French but learning a foreign language in general. I strive to foster curiousity , celebrat, and tailor my teaching to diverse learning styles so that every student can find joy and meaning in learning French!
