***Activities***
Pre-kindergarten students are learning how to navigate websites. They enjoy engaging in various activities on sites like Sesame Street and Starfall. At the beginning of the year, students worked on group activities on the Smart Panel. As they gained confidence, they transitioned to using the Chromebooks. They use the touch screen and will soon transition to the touchpad to navigate sites. Soon, they will learn how to use the mouse. So much fun and learning is happening in the Tech Café as they explore new sites to improve their skills!
Starfall
Starfall, Learn To Read, is a fun way for young students to learn how to navigate a website. It offers educational games, interactive stories, and mini-movies. This site keeps the students engaged, allowing them to have fun while learning.
StoryPlace
"StoryPlace provides children with the virtual experience of going to the Library and participating in the same types of activities libraries offer at their physical locations. StoryPlace presents favorite stories and activities in a format compatible with desktop and mobile devices. The site also includes early literacy information for parents and caregivers."
PBS Kids
Students enjoy a variety of educational and age-appropriate activities with characters such as Daniel Tiger, Peg+Cat, Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and more. "PBS KIDS is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children through curriculum-based entertainment with positive role models and content designed to nurture a child's total well-being."
