The girls enjoy listening to Old Testament stories. They add the stories to their journals.

The students learned that a sacrament is a special sign given to us by Jesus. They are signs of God's love. In Baptism we are joined to Jesus and one another.
Jesus wants us to be peacemakers. They learned about God's forgiveness and how we can forgive others. They acted out the parable of the Prodigal Son. Jesus always forgives us. He has given us the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. During the season of Lent we get ready for Jesus' Death and Resurrection.
Loving and serving our neighbor is a response to God's love for us. We are following Jesus when we help one another. At the Last Supper Jesus gave himself to us in the Eucharist. We celebrate what Jesus said and did at the Last Supper when we go to Mass.
The students learn about Mary and the saints. They learn that all og creation is a gift from God and there is a responsibility to care for all of creation.
The class learns that God created each of us to be special and to thank God for our individual gifts.
First grade learns the importance of forgiving one another because of Jesus rising to new life. They celebrate the new life that Jesus has given us.
