2023-2024

For Grandfriends Day, students and their grandfriends read together, talked about their favorite books, made bookmarks in Braille, and tried to crack codes to open an alphanumeric lock and a cryptex

Playwright and Director Arlene Hutton visits with the Third Grade students as an introduction to their Global Ed unit, Women of Character.

2022-2023

InvestiGators creator John Patrick Green visited Sacred Heart and told students in PK-4th grade his origin story!  Afterwards, he signed books in the Library.

Sacred Heart was excited to host journalist Atia Abawi who visited with third and fourth grade students to talk about biographies and astronaut Sally Ride.

Archaeologist Maegan Smith from the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development visited PK-4 to talk about archaeology and artifacts.  The students had amazing questions.  Did you know that you can be an underwater archaeologist?!  

In partnership with the New Orleans Opera, Mrs. Holmes was recorded reading Lily's First Trip to the Opera for the Opera's Storybook Project.
