About Me
Welcome, creative and curious thinkers! My name is Pam Cerminaro, and I teach Preschool and Lower School Science. This is my tenth year at the Academy of the Sacred Heart and my 32nd year in education! I have taught in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and special education classrooms throughout my career. Instructing preschool and lower school science allows me to teach all of the girls, which I truly love. I am passionate about all things science and enjoy sparking the excitement of learning with the girls.
My Philosophy
My educational philosophy is strongly inspired by Saint Madeleine Sophie's beliefs: (1) that children discover the significance of their lives and devote themselves to others; (2) that they take part creatively in the common effort to transform the world. These two powerful beliefs steer my instruction and create an atmosphere of respect and discovery in science. Saint Madeleine Sophie also embraced the generosity of spirit and a deep appreciation for joy. As an educator of the Sacred Heart, I aim to create a community of learners that nurtures growth and independence in a positive, fun environment. Together, we will discover great things. The Five Goals of Sacred Heart guide my curriculum, and I am amazed by how the girls learn and apply these goals daily. It is a blessing to be part of this community!
