Come Holy Spirit! I am Barbara Alpaugh, a child of the Sacred Heart. I am a Rosary alum and a parent of an alum. I teach the Catholic faith Prek-4th grades using the Sadlier textbooks, music, art, and play. Second grade is prepared in class to receive their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion at their home parish. I help the Campus Ministry with Formation to Mission, Sophie's Spirit Chapels, weekly feast days, and living out the heart of Jesus.
It is a great honor to be part of the Mission of the RSCJ's. I pray for their guidance and your prayers too. We are all one family in Christ.
My hope is that I can share the understanding with my students that a saint is just a sinner who keeps on trying and we are all created to be great saints!
Religion Teacher Philosophy
Religious education is not only passing on information, teaching scripture, and prayers. Catechesis is calling others into a personal relationship with the heart of Jesus and inviting others to participate in God’s plan for salvation. It is a glorious challenge to continue Christ’s mission.
As a baptized Catholic I am personally called by the Holy Spirit to make a contribution to the coming of God's kingdom. I hope to build a life of spiritual unity and harmony in relationship with others while honoring each person as distinct and unique.
My role as a Catholic teacher is to contribute to a spirituality of communion by:
• Creating opportunities for the involvement of all students in classroom-based spiritual activities, being especially conscious of incorporating non catholic students
• Fostering positive interpersonal relationships among students and to promote a sense of mutual trust and belonging
• Striving to identify and call forth the individual gifts of students and inviting them to put those gifts at the service of the common good
• Building partnerships with the students and parents in an effort to create an inclusive and hospitable school community
My hope is that my students learn to trust in Jesus' Divine Mercy available to all who love Him.
