Principal Evaluation

HR 12.2

The Pastor and Superintendent or School Board (depending on the Governance model) will formally evaluate the Principal annually and will submit the annual evaluation to the Superintendent by June 15th.

Purpose:

  • To provide a system of accountability for the Principal and governing body.


  • To facilitate the professional development for growth for the Principal.


  • To clarify mutual expectations of the Principal and the governing body.


  • To insure justice for the Principal with regard to personnel issues.

Commentary/Procedural Points:

  • A cooperative evaluation form is provided by the Department of Catholic Schools.


  • The governing body and the Principal review the evaluation process at the beginning of the year.


  • After signing the evaluation, one copy is given to the Principal, one copy is placed in the personnel file at the school, and one copy is sent to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
