In the case of foreign-born students, immigration documentation is also required, provided that nothing in this policy shall prohibit the enrollment or education of undocumented students consistent with the religious and educational mission of the school.
Purpose:
To comply with federal and state laws.
Commentary/Procedural Points:
This information is contained in the child’s permanent record folder and/or health file as determined by the school’s admission policy.
Information for the I-20 is forwarded to the Department of Catholic Schools.
If applicable, documentation of legal custody must be provided.
When a student is born in another country as evidenced by the birth certificate, a copy of “the green card” or “visa” is required.
The Archdiocese of Baltimore does not consider immigration status in determining whether to enroll otherwise qualified students.
