Creating Tests

When creating tests, Build test for before creating questions

1. Build Test

1) AjouBb [Course Management] >> [Control Panel] >> [Course Tool] >> Click [Test, Surveys, and Pools]

2) Click [Test]

3) From Test page, click 'Build Test'

4) From the test information page, fill in the required information and click 'Submit' >> Move to Test Canvas page

    • Name : The name of the test that appears on student page

    • Description: Write brief explanation about the test

    • Instructions : Write instructions about the test

    • When students click on the test to take the test, the 'description and instruction' are displayed on the screen

2. Question Setting

[Common setting option that applies to all questions in the test canvas]

1) At the top right corner of Test Canvas, click [Question Settings]

2) Feedback: Create a feedback entry for an individual answer on Create Question page

    • If there are multiple answers such as in multiple-choice or fill in the blank, there are feedback entries for each answer.

3) Image, Files, and Web Links: Display image or add areas to attach file or web link in Create Question page

    • Add to individual feedback: add feedback below the correct response feedback/incorrect response feedback when creating questions

    • Add to answers: add feedback below the answer choices(including the answer feedback)

4) Add categories, topics, levels of difficulty, keywords, and instructor notes to questions: add entry area in Create Question page to manage the test question data

    • The Area where you can enter categories, topics, levels of difficulty, keywords

5) Scoring: Create scoring related option specifying default points, partial credit, negative points, extra credit on Create Question page

    • Specify default point value: When the default point value is not specified, you need to enter the score every time you create questions

    • Extra credit: Create an option to specify extra credit when clicking Points(Extra Credit) in Test Canvas

6) Display: Create an option about how the answers are displayed on the screen on Create Question page

7) Click 'Submit' after changing all the options >> Return to test canvas page

3. Create Question

1) Click [Create Question] on the top of Tests Canvas >> Click the type of question you want to create

2) Write the Question title, Question test, answer, and option >> Click [Submit]

    • Depending on the type of question you choose, the entry options may differ

    • Question Title: This is for an instructor to distinguish questions and is normally written in numerical numbers such as 1,2,3 (This will not appear on students' screens)

    • Question Text: Write the actual question text(question) to be provided to students

※ The automatic scoring is not available for 'Essay, Fill in the blank, and File response' type.

3) Every time you create questions, a question summary about the total questions, total points, is updated

4) Select the plus sign [+] above the created question to open the menu wherever you want to add questions, text, or a file

    • This is the question reuse, question create quick toolbar to create questions quickly

5) Click [OK] after creating the questions >> List of tests is available on the 'Tests' page

6) Select sign to edit the test questions

    • Edit: Add/delete/edit questions on test canvas

    • Export: Download test pool on your PC(zip file)

    • Copy: copy the test on the 'Tests' page

    • Delete: Delete the test with non-test-takers from the 'Tests' page (unable to restore)

    • Item Analysis: Select the test and click [run] and you can see the summaries statistics for the test as a whole

4. Distribute Tests

[Distribute tests in AjouBb menu for students to take the test]

1) Click [Assignment] on the AjouBb course menu

    • To create separate test menu from Assignment on Ajou Bb, click [+] sign on the top>> Click [Add Content Area] to create new menu

2) [Assessment] >> Click [Test]

3) Select the test and click [Submit] >> Go to Test Option page

4) Select the option setting like Test Information/Due Date/Test presentation and click [Submit]

5) In the 'test' menu, the test is created

    • If you do not click 'Make Available,' the test is not available to students and they can't take the test

    • Click the icon to 'Make Available/Make Unavailable'

    • Until before the test setting is completed, it is recommended to 'Make Unavailable' to students
