  1. Manage Participants - in waiting room

[Admit participants for a meeting]

1) When participants enter, click [View] at the top to activate the participant screen

  • You can also click [Participants] at the bottom to activate the screen

2) If you click [Admit All] at the top, you can admit all participants in the waiting room to join the meeting

3) If you place the cursor on the participant's name, the [admit] button appears. Click to admit the participant

4) When participant notice pops up at the toolbar on the bottom of the screen. Click [admit] for participants to join the meeting

  • When [waiting room] option is activated, students enter the waiting room

  • Even if [Enabling join before host] is activated, when [waiting room] is activated, the students enter the waiting room prior to the meeting room

[Send a message to the participants in the waiting room]

1) Click [Message] on the right side of the waiting room >> Click Chat

2) Click the dropdown next to TO by clicking the ⓥ button >> Click everyone (in the waiting room)

  • You can change the person receiving the message by changing TO

3) Type and send your chat to the waiting room

2. Manage Participant-After students enter the meeting room

[Manage students individually in the participation screen]

1) If you place the cursor on the participant's name, you can use various settings

2) Click [View More]

3) Select the desired menu

  • Make Host: selected student becomes the host and the instructor becomes a participant (since the instructor cannot control the meeting room, it's not recommended)

  • Make Co-Host: become a co-host with the students (instructor maintains the control)

  • Rename: can change the name of the participant

  • Assing to Type closed captions: assign the panelist to type closed caption during the webinar

  • Put on hold: place selected student in the waiting room

  • Remove: remove the selected student from the meeting

[Using live transcript/subtitles]

1) When using subtitles, it appears at the bottom of the screen and the on entering the subtitle will notice [CC] icon on the participant's screen

  • Assign a participant(student) to type: Place a cursor on the participant's name and click 'more' >> Assign to type a closed caption

  • Host(instructor) creating live transcript: Click [live Transcript] >> Click [I will type]

2) Right-click [Live Transcript] to have setting options for subtitle and other functions

  • Show Subtitle: click to view live caption

  • View Full Transcript: the participant's screen on the right is converted and you can check the subtitle in dialogue format

  • Subtitle Settings: font size, chatting, and other options

3) Click [Live Transcript] to see subtitle setting options

  • Assign a participant to type: opens the participants' window

  • I will type: opens the closed-captioning window for instructors to manually type closed captions

  • Enable Auto-Transcription: turn on the automatically generated captions

[Reactions and Other settings]

1) Using the [Reaction] button, you can use emojis

  • Click [...] to check out more emojis

  • The reactions will appear next to the students' name in the participants' menu, and the screen of the student who clicked the 'Raise Hand' button will appear on top

2) To Lower Hand, select student's name and click 'Lower Hand'

    • You can use 'Raise Hand' or 'Lower Hand' for attendance or Q&A session

3) Click [...] at the bottom of the participant menu >> you can change other participant settings

  • Ask All to Unmute: a pop up message appears to students who are in mute mode

  • Lock Meeting: new participants cannot participate in the meeting

  • Clear All Feedback: Lower Hands of all who clicked Raise Hand reaction
