Online:
Step 1 – Application & Payment
You can begin an online application through the UT DOPL portal. You will want to click on Register a Person and create an account.
*If you already have a login for a different registration type, you can log into your existing account.
Once you have created the UT ID login, you can initiate an online application here https://utahdoc.mylicenseone.com/
While completing the online application, ensure that the information you enter is correct and answer all questions truthfully.
Once you have submitted your application, you can complete the online payment of $100. You will need to send a copy of the payment confirmation to Compliance.
Step 2 – Fingerprints
After you complete the online application, you will need to go to your local Police Department and get your fingerprints taken. You will need to submit two completed fingerprint cards by mail to the state so that they can complete the processing of your online application. Those prints should be mailed to:

Once processed, the state will send your registration by email. Be sure to forward a copy to Compliance so that we can update the information on our end and drop it in your employee file.
In-Person:
To apply in person, you must go in person to the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing to complete your application and get your live scan done. The division of Occupational and Professional Licensing is located at:

When done with the appointment, be sure to send a copy of your receipt to Compliance as confirmation this has been completed in person.
Once processed, the state will send your registration by email. Be sure to forward a copy to Compliance so that we can update the information on our end and drop it in your employee file.

As a corporate employee, you are required to hold the Burglar Alarm Agent registration. However, you can apply for a temporary registration issued by DOPL, which allows you to work, while the state processes your application.
*Skyline will cover the cost of licensing for corporate employees, to do so, we must submit the online application. If you wish to go in person for licensing, you will be responsible for the cost of the application.
Step 1 – Fingerprints
Before we can begin your application, you first need to go to your local Police Department and get your fingerprints taken. You will need to get 3 fingerprint cards total.

Step 2 – Application & Payment
Be sure to inform Compliance when you have submitted your prints by mail and you will be sent a DocuSign application to complete. We will use the information provided on this form to submit your online application for you.
As a corporate employee, Skyline will cover the cost of your required registration.
Step 3 – Submit & Issue
Once your online application is complete and your payment has been made, we will send your prints and the receipt to the state for you for further processing.
When the state issues your registration, they will email it to you, be sure to send it on to Compliance so that we can update that on our end and drop it in your employee file.

Step by Step Process:
Online:
*When it is time to renew your UT Burglar Alarm Agent registration the state will send you a notice in the mail which will include a Renewal ID that is needed to complete your renewal online. If you did not receive this, you can request your renewal ID here: https://secure.utah.gov/doplrenewal/doplrenewal?page=requestRenewalId
1. When ready to renew, go to the Utah ID portal and log into your account.
2. Then go to the DOPL Renewal page and click on Renew Online and it will take you to the renewal application through your UtahID account.
3. Once you have completed the renewal application, you will be able to make the $42 renewal payment online.
4. Send a copy of the confirmation to compliance@skylinesecurity.com to verify that you have completed your renewal.

Q: When am I able to work?
A: You will be provided a one week temp to being working while you submit the application either online or in-person.
Q: Do you offer fee assistance?
A: If you complete the online application and and mail in prints, then we are able to assist with payment. For assistance with an in-person application, we can send out a company check.
Q: How long does it take to process my application and get my registration issued?
A: If you go in person to submit the application, process time can take up to one month. If you complete the online application, process time takes between 1 - 3 months.
Q: I am in Utah for training, do I still need to obtain the registration?
A: Yes. Anyone working for Skyline Security in the state of UT is required to apply for and hold the Burglar Alarm Agent registration.
Q: I am a corporate employee in Utah, does this registration still apply to me?
A: Yes. Anyone working for Skyline Security in the state of UT is required to apply for and hold the Burglar Alarm Agent registration.
Q: As a technician, when am I required to obtain my Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 training?
A: Within 12 months, we will need to have a copy on file as well, so be sure to send a copy over once completed.
Q: Do any cities or counties within UT require additional licensing?
A: For information specific to any cities or counties within UT, please use the work request form located at the top of the page. On that form is a spot to input a list of areas you would like to work, that are within UT.
