Step 1 – CRC Requirements
Before an application can be submitted for NC each person applying must first complete a state required Criminal Record Check (CRC).
Click to go to the Criminal Record Check site. You will need to create a new account and complete the online application.
The license and scope you need to choose is Registration New - 4 years.
The fee for the CRC varies based on the search parameters you include. Certain states or jurisdictions charge more for the search than others. The rep is responsible for paying this fee.
Once the CRC is complete, the current status on the home page will shows as COMPLETE (if it shows paid or processing, it is not complete)
Once complete, you will need to send over the CRC token. This is found on the top left side of the page. You will need to click the Show Security Token to view it, then copy it, paste it into an email and send it over.

Step 2 – Application Process
The application packet will be automatically sent to you via DocuSign. It MUST be completed over DocuSign so that we can obtain the correct signatures of the state Qualified Manager.
If you need this sent to you, be sure to request that from Compliance.
Step 3 – Additional Requirements
· 2 fingerprint cards – make sure to complete them AND sign them
· Fingerprint Release for Information form – this must be printed and completed by hand and mailed with your fingerprint cards.
· Badge Photo – must be face forward, no hats or sunglasses, solid background, no selfies.
· Copy of ID/DL – this must be a current ID or DL, if one on file is expired you will be informed to submit this.

Step 4 - Fee & Submit
The fee for the application is $94.97 and will be paid when the online portion of the licensing is completed. The fee will be automatically deducted from the reps next check once the application has been submitted.
The state will take anywhere from 3 – 6 months to process your application.
*If the state needs anything corrected, they will inform both the rep and compliance. If needed, any corrections must be done within 5 days or the application will be considered abandoned by the state and the process done over again with new payment.
**A temporary permit may be granted by the state ONLY IF you have no charges listed on your CRC, no matter how minor the charge shown is.

Salespersons and Technicians both need to complete a 6 hour continuing education course, which can be done through the Electronic Security Association.
**You will be required to submit a copy of your continuing education certificate with your registration application.

**Let us know if you are a w-2 employee before signing up for the course.
2. Once you are registered, course materials will be mailed to you. Be sure to pay close attention during the course, as you will be required to pass a proctored test at the end of it, before you are issued the certification.
3. Once you have completed the course and passed the proctored test, you will receive a course certificate. You will need to send a copy of that to compliance@skylinesecurity.com. A copy will also need to be included with your application that is sent to the state.
Step by Step Process:
Part 1 - NC Background check
*Before you are able to get a renewal submitted for NC, you need to complete a state specific background check.
1. Go to https://crclicensing.com to create an account and complete an application.
2. Complete payment and once processed be sure to send us the CRC token so we can initialize your online application.

Part 2 - Documents
1. You will be sent documents to complete via docusign. These documents need to be uploaded to your online renewal application before we can pay and submit your information. Complete as soon as you can.
**During the online renewal application process, we will complete the application payment for you and deduct it from your check.
2. Once complete, we will mail to the state for you and notify you of the tracking number when it gets sent out.
3. Once you receive your renewed license, be sure to send us a copy so that we can update Orion accordingly.

Step 1 – License Verification
Employees need to provide a copy of their current registration and previous company’s BPN number. That information will be sent on to the state, and they will provide a reference number which is used to initiate the online application.
Step 2 – Application
While waiting on the state to send the employee’s reference number, an employee transfer packet will be sent to the employee via DocuSign.
*Employees will be required to include a one year of residential history on your application or it will not be accepted.
Step 3 – Fee and Submit
Once the online application is complete and submitted, the payment of $15 will be automatically completed and deducted from the employee’s check.
Step 4 – Issuance
Once the state re-issues the registration, the employee will need to make sure to send a copy to Compliance to update Orion and include in the employee's file.

Anyone inactive for more than 30 days is required to be terminated with the state.
