Step 1 – Training
1. You can sign up for the correct course by clicking one of the links below:
Sales – Understanding Electronic Security Systems
Tech – Certified Alarm Technician Level 1
*Before signing up for the course, be sure to let us know if you are a w-2 employee or 1099
**If you need assistance with course fees be sure to reach out to us at compliance@skylinesecurity.com.
2. Once registered any course materials, if required, will be mailed to you. Be sure to pay close attention through the course as you will be required to pass a proctored exam at the end of the course.
3. When you received your certificate (AFTER PASSING PROCTERED TEST), be sure to email a copy to compliance@skylinesecurity.com. A copy will also need to be included with your application when sent to the state.
Step 2 - Live Scan
In-State
Employees located in the state of Louisiana will need to scheudle a live scan appointment through IdentoGo.
Go to https://uenroll.identogo.com/ and enter the following service code: 27N2J1 to get an appointment scheduled.
Be sure to take a valid photo ID to the appointment with you.
This process must be done at least 5 days prior to submitting the application.
Out-Of-State
Employees located out of the state of Louisiana can either obtain a live scan or submit fingerprint cards to IdentoGo for processing.

Step 3 – Application Process
Employees need to complete the Life Safety and Property Protection Employee Application. You should also read through the Employee Requirements information page provided by the state.
When completing the application be sure to pay attention to the following:
· Check Initial under type of application.
· Provide ALL requested information. On page two, in the endorsement checklist, choose either:
o Rep: Property Protection Sales/Design
o Tech: Security
*If you want to both sell and install, you will have to apply and pay for both registrations, so check both boxes.
· The employee must complete the application in its entirety, then sign and send our Downey office so that we can obtain the signature of our Qualified Manager before forwarding on to the state. Please do not send this application to the state on your own.
*THE ENITRE APPLICATION MUST BE DONE & SIGNED IN BLUE INK OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Step 4 – Additional Requirements
Along with the application, the employee will need to submit the following:
Employee’s digital color photo – saved to a CD in JPG format and submitted with the application. Photo can also be emailed to state; we are attempting to verify that email address now.
Photos must be full face, no hats or sunglasses with the photo identified with the applicant’s name.
Copy of your drivers license or state issued id – must be current
Step 5 – Fee & Submit
Application fee is $100 per person / per application type. This can be paid for with a money order made payable to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Personal checks are not accepted.
Background fee is $39.25. This can be paid for with a money order made payable to Louisiana Department of Public Safety. Personal checks are not accepted.

Once the state has issued the renewal license, it will be sent to Downey. We will obtain a copy and then reach out to confirm your current mailing address to forward it.

A: Both Salespersons and Technicians are required to obtain an employee registration.

A: Only one application is needed, but each endorsement type will require a seperate payment.

A: The registration will be good for one year and will expire with the company license.
Q: How do I switch my registration from one company to another?
A: You would need to complete an employee revision to switch your current license over to Skyline.
Q: Can I complete this over DocuSign?
