Municipal Licensing is the licensing that you must hold in each City or County that you are working in. Each city, county or municipal area may have different requirements to be followed. All salespersons are responsible for making sure that they obtain their municipal registrations and be aware of any laws or restrictions in place for the city, county or municipal area that they are working in.

Information:
Each rep must first complete the Residential Solicitor Application and submit it to the Finance Department. They will notify you of the fee when you submit and payment is due at that time. Once submitted, the city will need at least 10 days to process the application. You will be notified once the city approves or denies the application.

Each person going door to door must first be issued a peddler permit. Applications can be obtained by sending an email to wvaldes@brentwoodca.gov OR in person at the Brentwood Police Department. The application must be completed and turned into the Police Department in person along with the following additional requirements:
Affidavit to Release Information
2 passport quality photos (for badge)
Live Scan - done at PD
The fee is $246.50 for the application. There is also a $56 DOJ Live Scan fee. These fees can be paid with cash, card or business check (no personal checks are accepted at this time)
It can take up to 30 days for this to be processed and issued.

Each vendor/peddler will need to complete the application, live scan form, and the cc authorization form (leaving the cc#, exp and cvv blank) and include your government issued ID and a passport style photo.
Forms can be found on https://www.oxnard.org/city-department/department-billing-licensing/business-license/ under Permits - Vendors: Solicitors/Peddlers.
This all must be emailed to licensinglivescan@oxnard.org. The city will reach out about the fee and the live scan during processing.
Once approved by the Oxnard Police Department, the applicant will be notified and issued a license.
