Q: How long does it take to process the initial or renewal application?
A: Processing times vary depending on the volume of applications being processed by the state at the time. You can check on current processing times here https://bsis.ca.gov/forms_pubs/app_processing_timeframes.shtml.
Q: When can you reapply for a registration after being denied?
A: A new application can be submitted one year to date after the denial.
Q: How early can I renew?
A: You can submit the renewal 6 months prior to the registration expiration date. The registration will be considered delinquent the day after it expires, so you want to be sure to submit at least 2 months before the expiration date to avoid a delinquent status with the state.
