Part 1 - Application
*If you are applying for multiple registration types, you need to submit separate applications for each type.
**The MD Security Systems Unit will only accept applications completed electronically on their PDF form.
To complete an application for the state of MD you will need to complete the electronic application:

When completing the application you will need to include the following information:

Part 2 - Fingerprints
*If you are in the state of MD, you are required to obtain a live scan. You can make an appointment to be live scanned at any facility that provides a live scan.
In-state Applicants:
When making the appointment or completing the live scan, you may be asked for the following information:

Reason Fingerprinted: MD Public Safety Article, Section 5-108
*You will need to attach the receipt from your fingerprint appointment to your application.
Out-of-state Applicants:
If you are located outside of the state of MD, you will be required to send in two fingerprint cards. IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION WE HAVE SPECIFIC FINGERPRINT CARDS FOR YOU TO USE! Let us know and we will send them to your current address.

You need to include two 2 inch by 2 inch photos to your application. Must meet the followingrequirements:

If you are already licensed under a previous company, be sure to upload a copy of it through the work request form or send it to compliance@skylinesecurity.com. We will send a letter on company letterhead requesting the state to transfer your employment to Skyline.
Once you get the updated card, be sure to send a copy of it to compliance@skylinesecurity.com so that we can save it to your employee file and Orion.
A notice on company letterhead must be sent to the state by Skyline.

Q: Who is required to obtain a license/registration?
A: Both Salespersons and Technicians are required to obtain the Alarm Employee registration.
Q: How long does a new application take to process?
A: A new application can take up to three months to process.
Q: Once issued, how long is the license good for?
A: The license is good for three years once issued.
Q: How long does a renewal application take to process?
A: The renewal application will take at least three months to process your renewal application.
Q: How early can I renew?
A: You should renew at least three months prior to your expiration date. You can renew up to six months before.
Q: Do I need to switch my registration from one company to another?
A: Yes, you can switch your license from one company to another by sending a request on company letterhead.
Q: I have lost my registration/license, how can I get another?
A: You will need to request a new one from the state and send in a $10 fee.
