Step 1 - Training Course
Each person applying for a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) card is required to complete a 20 Hour Security training course. The course we offer for this is the Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 course.
*There is no in person course currently available that falls under the Alarm requirement.

**If you need assistance with course fees, be sure to reach out to Compliance.
Be sure to pay close attention through the course as you will be required to pass a proctored exam at the end of the course.
When you pass the course and receive your certificate, be sure to email a copy to Compliance. A copy will also need to be included with your application when sent to the state.
Step 2 - Live Scan
You will be required to obtain a live scan in the state of Illinois before you can apply for the Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC). A copy of this receipt MUST be kept as the 16 digit Transaction Control Number (TCN) is needed for your online application. You are responsible for all live scan fees, we are unable to assist with that as it is done in person.
The live scan fee varies based on the vendor chosen. You can view a list of approved vendors here.
Step 3 - Online Application
Applications are submitted online through the IDFPR Online Services Portal. Follow the instructions below on how to submit an application.
Create a new account
Verify Email
Create new application
Choose Detective, Security, Fingerprint & Alarm Contractor Board
Click Permanent Employee Application
Proceed through application, verifying information as you go.
Choose No to Peace Officer Exemption
For fingerprints, choose Illinois Fingerprint Vendor
Input your 16 digit Transaction Control Number (TCN)
Continue through application, answer all background checks honestly and upload any requested documents.
Fee is $55 and is paid for when you submit your application.
*For fee assistance, be sure to save your application at the end and send your login
information to Compliance so that we can log in and complete the payment for you.
Once your application is submitted, send a copy of the confirmation to Compliance so that we can unlock your access to work in IL while the state processes your PERC registration.
When your Permanent Employee Registration Card is issued, be sure to send a copy to us at compliance@skylinesecurity.com or through the upload feature on the work request form.

Step by Step Process:
Online (Inside Renewal Period)
1. During the renewal period, you are able to renew online by going to https://online-dfpr.micropact.com/ and logging into your account.
2. Once logged in, click the "Online Services" link on the top right. A drop down will appear. Click "Create/Continue A Renewal" link.
3. Click "Start" next to the appropriate License Number (If you hold multiple licenses. they may appear on this screen)
4. The renewal application will open and ask you to answer a few questions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: On question 2, only answer "Yes" if your address has moved to an address outside of the United States. If you need to update your address (within the United States), answer "No" and then update via the "Edit Address" button.
6. Once all answers are provided and the application submitted, the process has been completed.
By Mail (Outside Renewal Period)
1. If you need to renew outside of the renewal period, you will not be able to renew online. Instead, you will need to write a letter to the IDFPR asking them to reinstate your PERC card along with a check in the amount of $45.
2. In this letter, be sure to include the following:
§ License Number
§ If you are required to pay child support or not.
3. If you need assistance with the renewal fee, then you will need to send your letter to Compliance. Otherwise, you can send it to IL at:

4. Once your renewal has been processed and issued, be sure to send a copy of your current PERC card to Compliance.
