Private Equity Mortgage Standards Council

For reporting complaints or concerns of a person not working within generally accepted standards of the private equity mortgage industry.

The Private Equity Mortgage Standards Council works with borrowers and investors-lenders when either party is involved in a private mortgage transaction and feels that they are the subject of negligent behavior one or another party. When a person is working with a non-PEMI Certified mortgage broker or private lender, the person (either borrowers or investors-lenders) may be subject to act of predation.

If you are in a private mortgage arrangement and something concerns you, what you should do is:

1 - If you are a borrower or investor-lender and feel you have been dealing with a predator broker, complete a Report-A-Predator form here.

2 - If you are a borrower or investor-lender and would like to lodge a complaint about a bad experience with a private mortgage, please email us at info[at]peminstitute.org.
