The Orange Lions suffer tough loss to West Geauga; fall to 5-2 on the season

The Orange Lions went into Friday's game with a great attitude and energy, ready to take down West Geauga. The first half of the game was a defensive battle. The Lions forced three and outs on The Wolverines first 3 possessions, along with a goal line stand; but Orange's offense failed to convert two crucial 4th and 1 opportunities deep into West Geauga territory. The stalled drives by The Lion offense would come back to haunt them as their offense would struggle the rest of the way.

The Orange Lions went into halftime down 14-0 as West Geauga scored on a late TD reception before halftime. Still, The Lion's energy was matched by The Wolverines. They came out in the second half and converted two first downs, however; on the ensuing play, The Lions would fumble and The Wolverines recovered. Thinking that this would put Orange out of the game, West Geauga tried to strike quickly to put another touchdown on the board. They failed and The Lion's defense came up big again. Still, The Orange offense struggled to capitalize on the turnover on downs and West Geauga never turned back, handing The Lions their second loss of the season. The Lions would eventually get on the scoreboard with touchdowns from senior WR Milan Pittmon (13 yards) and junior WR Darrian White (29 yards) from senior QB Ryan Singer.

This week, The Orange Lions (5-2; 2-2) come home to face the unbeaten Perry Pirates (6-0; 3-0) in what will be another CVC showdown.
