Don't let the final score fool you! The Orange Lions gave the Kenston Bombers more than they could have asked for last night, but the Bombers took advantage of a few late Lion miscues to win 65-37.

Despite Kenston putting the first points on the board, Orange bounced back and took a 14-6 lead in the first quarter on a pair of Stephen Borgman to Will Carter passing plays. The Lion defense provided a lot of the early energy. Senior Tashawn Chavis had a slew of outstanding plays creating 2 fumbles and blocking a punt. The first quarter ended with Orange leading 17-14 after Senior Colton Kaufman kicked the first field goal of his career. The defenses tightened down in the 2nd and third quarters. Kenston took a 21-17 lead into half time.

Orange struck first in the 2nd half on another Borgman to Carter connection. Kenston scored again to make it 28-24 after 3 quarters. In the 4th, Borgman hit Senior Chad Sonkin on a 42 yard scoring play to take the lead. Kenston would answer, but on the ensuing kickoff, Carter bolted 90 yards for a touchdown. With just under 9 minutes left, the Lions had a 37-36 lead over the Bombers who were in the driver's seat in the CVC. On a 3rd and 30 play, Kenston would take the lead with 7 minutes left. They proceeded to kick a short kickoff that they recovered. The Bombers scored on that possession and then kicked it short and recovered it again. In a matter of 2 minutes, Kenston scored 21 points without Orange touching the ball.

Will Carter added another career night to his outstanding season. He finished with 9 catches for 130 yards and 3 TDs plus the 90 yard kickoff return TD. Chad Sonkin finished with 148 total yards (9 catches for 121 and 27 yards rushing). He had the other Lions touchdown. Borgman finished with 2 school records on his birthday, yardage and TDs in a game. He finished 30 for 46 for 350 yards and 4 TDs with no INT's. Junior LB Corey Thomas had the best game of his young career for the Lions defense to add to Chavis' efforts. Senior CB Christian Macklin had a key interception with a lengthy return in the 3rd quarter.
