The Orange Lions made it another historic season after they wore down TTOT last Friday night. Winning with a score of 42-27, made it The Lion's 9th win in a row over their arch rival and marks only the 3rd time in 41 years that the football program has produced a winning record in consecutive seasons.

The Orange Lions came out of the gates hot by shutting down TTOT on their first drive, forcing a 3 and out. As The Lions drove down the field on a big pass play from Senior QB Palmer Hanley to Senior WR Darrian White, they looked to their reliable RB, Junior, Jake Sonkin. He scored from 2 yards out and gave Orange their first lead of the game. Even though TTOT would respond due to a kick off return to tie the game, The Lions would have an answer of their own. Hanley again connected with White for a 52 yard touchdown. This seemed to be the trend all game; responding to anything TTOT threw at them!

The Lions dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball Friday night, but a couple of mistakes allowed TTOT to linger around. Orange went into halftime up 7 and kept that pace for the remainder of the game until The Orange defense put pressure on the Bison. Sonkin would score twice more and Junior OLB Antonio Baez would intercept a pass that stalled a drive by TTOT, putting the finishing nail into the coffin.

The win marked the 9th in a row for The Orange Lions against their bitter foe (8th under head coach Adam Bechlem). The 6-4 season marks another winning season for The Lions and they would like to thank all of those who supported their efforts throughout the season. The Lions will greatly miss the senior class and wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.

The 2017 season will come quicker than you think, so we will see you Lions in the weight room in January!

GO LIONS!
