Last Friday, The Orange Lions had ample opportunities to put The Rockets of Streetsboro away, but failed execution made the game closer than what it could have been. The Lions grinded their way to their second victory of the season behind some tough defense and explosive plays on offense.

Streetsboro went up 7-0 early when they connected on a long pass for a touchdown. However, The Lions responded when senior QB Sean Borgman connected with Junior RB Diante White for a touchdown. The Lions defense would also get a score when sophomore LB Greg Beard took an interception 73 yards for a touchdown. On the opening drive of the second half, Borgman connected with junior WR Marvin Davies for a long touchdown.

Going into the 4th quarter, The Lions seemed to have the game in hand with a score of 28-14. But after a few long punt returns, Streetsboro fought their way back into the game and tied it up 28-28 with less than 5 minutes left to play. The Orange Defense stifled The Rockets forcing them to punt inside their own territory. Fortunately for The Lions, the snap went over the punters head allowing Orange to recover on downs inside the 10 yard line. Eventually Borgman would punch in the winning touchdown giving The Lions a 35-28 hard fought victory.

This week The Lions (2-0) will host St. Thomas Aquinas (1-1). Kickoff is set for Friday evening at 7pm. Come out and support The Lions this Friday in the Lion's Den!
